Automation of processes,  Process optimization,  Improved productivity, and Skill-based routing

Center for Business Communicati􏰁on – University of South Carolina | Columbia, SC |Communication Consultant

The office was responsible for one-on-one communication, editing, and mentoring services in a variety of media. These meetings were offered to students, faculty, and members of the local business community. The assessment and data analysis system was prone to duplication, deletion, and overall over-reporting that wasted the ti􏰂me and effort of the labor force.

  • Introduced templates for commonly used forms to lessen the individual reporting load for creating reports.

  • Used dynamically updating spreadsheets to make data analysis simple and create error-free reporting.

  • Identified areas of required assessment and data collection and suggested policy changes to reflect those.

Radford University | Radford, VA | Adjunct Instructor

Teaching many of the same classes each semester created a process of continual updating to better meet student needs and to prize efficiency without sacrificing outcomes. I have experience in both Project and Process Management, but my talent for efficiency in the workflow, reducing wasted resources, and organizing details to make an error free work system makes me well suited for process management.

  • Created reusable artifacts to apply to multiple times in the flow and in multiple flows

  • Used technology to make data analysis simple and create error free reporting

  • Created archives to reuse information and speed up the workflow

  • Suggested the overall process for approaching the collaboratively authored textbook

  • Applied mapping processes to identify redundancies in courses and assessments

Montgomery Floyd Regional Library Founda􏰁tion | Christi􏰂ansburg, VA | Wine Pull Coordinator

While the wine pull was a project I managed, it involved a repeating process that I also organized for efficiency. Donations had to be solicited, follow-ups were usually required, inventory information needed to be kept, and the numbers used in the pull had to be assigned correctly to the inventory

  • Used a spreadsheet to keep track of all donation information including item, donor, value, and details of donations.

  • Organized follow-ups for donations by including calendar reminders and future dated emails.

  • Kept the committee and leadership up to date on all donations received, promised, or solicited

Women’s Leadership Conference - Montgomery County Chamber of Commerce | Christi􏰂ansburg, VA | Event Planning Volunteer

Participate in the planning of the annual event attended by over 150 businesswomen. The 2016 event will be a larger scale format involving interaction of details and big picture goals.

  • Met with the original planning group and suggested ways to organize the volunteers to create efficiency on important processes and reduce redundancy.

  • Created the email list to avoid multi􏰂-channel communication misunderstandings.

  • Identified big picture goals and tasks and assigned volunteers to each goal.

  • Gave goal-groups processes for communication and approaching their tasks to avoid wasted 􏰂time or last minute changes.
