Created three new courses for curriculum review as well as adapted existing course material for several other courses. I have also given training seminars to new adjuncts about how to approach sound pedagogy in their classes. I’ve attended classes on how to effectively structure multi-day, multi-goal training events.

• Created and taught a course on Nonverbal Communication to train upperclassmen on how to use gestures and facial expressions successfully in various contexts.

• Facilitated training workshops for adjuncts about assignment specific topics as well as overall introductions to new expected procedures.

• Identified training goals for various classes and mapped them to assessment.

• Successfully created training for face-to-face encounters and online contexts, with certified designs that meet best practices for online training and teaching.

Language and Culture Ins􏰁titute – Virginia Tech | Blacksburg, VA | English Language Instructor

Worked with high level, college bound, non-native English speakers to learn English standards for academic communication. Training included special topic workshops about using Prezi as a visual aid, eye contact during speeches, and adding Western rhetorical devices in writing. Received over 90% approval from participants.
